DIY Dollar Store Wreath

I was itching to create a new fall wreath for my door. I wanted a wreath that would work for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I started searching Pinterest
and noticed many of the fall wreaths included burlap. I thought that would be perfect for my fall wreath idea.

A simple, rustic moss wreath with burlap ribbon would dress up my front door and welcome fall and guest this season. Wreaths don't have to be full and fluffy to be beautiful. Natural elements tend to make a wreath simple but sophisticated.
In just a few minutes I will show you how easy it is to create your own fall wreath.

MATERIAL AND TOOLS:
18"Grapevine wreath $4.99
spray adhesive $3.99
2-3 bags of Floral or Spanish Moss from Dollar Tree
burlap looking ribbon and embellishments- optional

.

Here's what to do.

First off, I started spraying a small section of the Grapevine wreath with the adhesive. A glue gun is too messy. I glued the first layer of Floral Moss to the grapevine wreath in clumps. Every so often I would lift the wreath and shake off any access. I created my wreath outside because it's a very messy project. I decided to add a second layer with more spray adhesive and Moss to cover more areas. It's a little bulky and more textured, but I like that.
I kept some of my vine peeking through too! After a few more shakes, I was ready to add my bow. I purchased this burlap looking wired ribbon from Joann Fabrics for $3.99 with my 40% discount. Go figure! Initially I was making a wreath for my door but ended up using them for my shutters. I needed to jazz them up a bit to get a quick sale in my booth. Shutters can add an element of surprise when used in unexpected ways inside your home. They looked great placed on either side of my desk.

You can hang your wreath on a door or use it flat on a table as a centerpiece. It can be propped up on a mantelpiece, shelf or wall hook. A wreath with embellishments added will certainly be eye catching and will make a statement this fall.  Do you want to see the transformation of these shutters and $8.00 wreaths up close?  Drop in and check out my booth at Redoux Home Market & Consignment 2983 Highway 190 Mandeville, La.
